Duncan Simpson is an experienced and knowledgeable professional with over 25 years’ experience in the resources, waste and environmental sustainability field. He has direct knowledge and understanding of the challenges and working practice in the public and private sectors.

He has key account managed some of the UK's top FMCG (Fast-moving consumer goods) businesses during a long and extensive career at compliance scheme Valpak. Over his 22 years in the business, he took on a number of roles and was a member of the company Executive for 15 years. His skills have been used to maintain a professional and responsive business service for producer responsibility issues and all things green. He has held a number of positions on expert panel advisory groups, brings an extensive network of experts and practitioners, valuable contributions to business ideas and is seen as a safe pair of hands.

​As one of the UK's original waste recycling officers, he gained extensive practical experience of local authority waste minimisation and recycling strategies in both urban and rural settings. In these roles, he rolled out some of the UK's first kerbside recycling systems for recyclates and organics, introduced commercial recycling services, designed and developed household waste recycling centres, as well as assuming responsibility for all communications and awareness.​​
